Discover the Best Time to Visit Sedona

Spring

Spring is one of the busier times to visit Sedona, and it’s easy to see why. The weather is incredible during this season. With temperature highs ranging from the high 60s to the mid70s, you and your family can make the most of our beautiful outdoor oasis. Hiking, biking, adventure tours, and outdoor yoga are just a few of the popular outdoor activities you can enjoy during this season. Of course, the wonderful weather and bounty of outdoor activities mean that this is one of the more crowded times to visit Sedona, so you will most likely be plenty of other visitors on the trails and at main attractions in the area.

Summer

Summer is definitely the hottest time to be in Sedona. Temperatures peak in the mid to high 90s in June, July, and August. The sun can be quite potent this time of the year, but you can still find plenty of fun ways to cool off here! Slide Rock State Park is home to a fantastic swimming hole that’s perfect for families. You can escape the heat in a helicopter ride or Jeep tour while still experiencing the breathtaking Red Rock scenery. Plus, three of our premium rentals feature pools with scenic views of Sedona, so the entire family can cool off together!

Fall

Fall, like spring, is one of the best times to visit Sedona. September through November is another fantastic season for outdoor activities, especially since the temperatures range from the high 60s through the mid80s. This is another great time to get outside and explore the great outdoors. You can find some fall foliage in some of the surrounding canyons and valleys. This is also a fantastic time to take a day trip to the Grand Canyon or hit one of the nearby golf courses.

Winter

If you’re searching for the best time to visit Sedona with little crowds, winter is the time to travel. Outside of Christmas, this is the offseason for the area. Temperatures are relatively mild for the winter season, with daily averages in the high 40s and mid50s, meaning you can still get outside and hike. Take advantage of the smaller crowds and visit one of the seven vortexes or the unique art galleries in the main downtown area.
